JJ Johnson filed his FEC presidential declaration on July 4, 2026. He is a declared 2028 candidate. What followed on X — the platform owned by Elon Musk, whose company SpaceX is a defendant in Johnson's active federal civil lawsuit — is a documented pattern across three consecutive campaign accounts.
Account one — banned
Nineteen days after Johnson filed his presidential declaration, X suspended his first campaign account for "inauthentic behavior." No specific violation was identified. No appeal process was offered. The account was gone.
The platform whose owner is a defendant in Johnson's federal lawsuit suspended his presidential campaign account nineteen days after he filed to run.
Account two — adult pornography
Johnson created a second campaign account. X's algorithm began feeding it adult pornography. Johnson documented and reported the content. A declared presidential candidate's campaign account was being served explicit material by the platform's own recommendation system.
Account three — two layer suppression
Johnson created a third campaign account in August 2026. The account grew organically to 112 followers — proof that when X's system allowed it to be visible people chose to follow it.
A few weeks ago X added what Johnson has documented as a two layer suppression system to the account. On October 15, 2026 he conducted a controlled test. He posted a reply from the campaign account. X's system acknowledged receipt — the comment count incremented — but the content was completely invisible and unclickable to any user. The reply existed in X's system. Nobody could see it.
Since the suppression was added the account has dropped from 112 followers to 99. Nobody leaves an account they can see. People leave accounts that appear inactive because their content has been made invisible.
The welcome gift
On October 20, 2026 — while the two layer suppression was actively hiding the campaign account's content from voters — X Corp sent Johnson's suppressed campaign account a $15 welcome gift to onboard him to X Money, the platform's financial services product.
Johnson ordered an X card the same day. He was approved.
The same platform. The same account. Suppressing his presidential campaign content while soliciting him as a banking customer.
What Elon Musk calls this platform
Musk acquired X in 2022 and declared it a free speech platform. He has repeatedly stated that X is the world's de facto public square — the essential infrastructure of American political communication.
The free speech platform banned a presidential candidate's first campaign account. Fed his second one pornography. Applied invisible two layer suppression to his third. Then sent him a credit card application.
X Corp is a defendant in active federal civil litigation filed by Johnson in the Northern District of Florida. SpaceX — also owned by Musk — is a co-defendant in the same case.
The case continues.
