JJ Johnson, declared 2028 presidential candidate and founder of AMILLI AI, Corp., released the American Digital Bill of Rights today — a five point policy framework proposing the most significant expansion of American digital privacy protections in the history of the internet.
The timing is not accidental. Johnson is an active plaintiff in federal civil litigation naming Meta, X Corp, SpaceX, TikTok, Oracle, and their executives as defendants. His independent media company NewsOnScale was banned on a false accusation. His campaign account on X has been documented as suppressed through controlled tests. His content has been restricted across eight platforms simultaneously.
He did not write this policy from a briefing room. He wrote it from the inside.
What the American Digital Bill of Rights proposes
Five articles. Each one addresses a specific mechanism by which American digital rights are currently being violated.
Article I — The Right to Plain Language Disclosure. Every app must tell Americans in plain language, before installation, exactly what it accesses on their device. Not buried in a 30,000 word terms of service. One screen. Sixth grade reading level. Before you tap agree.
Article II — The Right to the Browser. Every platform serving more than ten million Americans must provide full functionality through a web browser. No features locked behind app installation to coerce users into granting background device access.
Article III — The Right to Data Ownership. Americans own their behavioral data. They have the right to know what has been collected, demand its deletion within 24 hours, and receive at least 25 percent of the value when their data is sold to third parties.
Article IV — The Right to Algorithmic Transparency. Platforms must explain in plain language why users see what they see. Users may opt out of algorithmic curation entirely and receive content in chronological order. Content suppression must be disclosed with a specific written explanation within 48 hours.
Article V — The Right to Platform Access for Political Candidates. Declared federal candidates cannot be banned or suppressed on platforms that constitute essential public infrastructure without due process, a written explanation, an independent appeal, and notification to the Federal Election Commission.
Why this matters right now
Most Americans do not know that every major social media platform — Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube — works perfectly in a smartphone browser. You never had to download the app. The companies just never told you that.
The app gives corporations something the browser never can — permanent residency on your device. Background access to your camera. Your microphone. Your location. Your activity patterns. Even when you are not using the app. Even when you are asleep.
Go to your iPhone Settings right now. Tap Privacy and Security. Tap Camera. Read the list of apps that have access to your camera on your personal device.
That list is the inventory these companies are selling.
You are not the customer. You are the product. The American Digital Bill of Rights proposes to change that.
