JJ Johnson asked Google AI seven questions about his own candidacy. It returned a dead jazz musician, Johnson and Johnson pharmaceutical, and Trump lawsuits instead of his active federal complaint. It told voters no Democratic candidates have launched for 2028. He filed with the FEC on July 4 2026.

JJ Johnson is a declared candidate for President of the United States in the 2028 election cycle. He filed his FEC paperwork on July 4 2026. His campaign is documented at jjjohnson2028.com. His federal civil complaint — Case No. 1:26-cv-00197-RH-HTC — is publicly available on PACER. His name appears on federal court records, FEC filings, and dozens of published NewsOnScale articles.
On September 28 2026 Johnson asked Google AI seven questions about his own candidacy using different query framings. Here is what Google AI told him — and what it tells us about voters' ability to find accurate information about a declared presidential candidate using the world's most widely used AI product.
The Seven Tests
Test 1 — Who is JJ Johnson
Google AI returned James Louis JJ Johnson — a jazz trombonist who died in 2001.
A declared presidential candidate with an active billion dollar federal civil complaint on PACER, an FEC filing dated July 4 2026, and a published campaign website is invisible to Google AI when searched by his own name. A dead musician from 25 years ago is more findable than a living declared presidential candidate.
Test 2 — Is there a guy named JJ Johnson running for president in 2028
Google AI got this one right. It identified Johnson and described his platform accurately — noting his America Only positioning, his anti-establishment outsider framing, and his platform including abolishing the IRS, the Federal Reserve, and the income tax.
It characterized him as faith based — a framing Johnson has not specifically used — and described his policies as drawing from libertarian, populist, and nationalist rhetoric rather than standard party platforms. Johnson is a declared Democratic candidate.
Test 3 — Tell me about the presidential candidate suing Meta and Elon Musk
Google AI returned information about Trump's lawsuits against media companies.
Case No. 1:26-cv-00197-RH-HTC — a billion dollar federal civil complaint filed August 28 2026 against Meta Platforms Inc., Mark Zuckerberg, X Corp, SpaceX, Elon Musk, TikTok Inc., Oracle Corporation, and Larry Ellison — is publicly searchable on PACER. Google AI cannot find it when described by its most distinctive characteristic.
Test 4 — Who founded AMilliPay
Google AI got the product right but stated that because AMilliPay is a very recent and specialized startup that publicizes as being built alone on a farm in Florida the legal name of the sole founder has not been widely disclosed.
Johnson's legal name appears on his FEC filing. It appears on Case No. 1:26-cv-00197-RH-HTC filed in federal court. It appears on his campaign website. It appears in dozens of published articles. Google AI is characterizing a publicly documented federal plaintiff and FEC-registered presidential candidate as having an undisclosed identity.
Test 5 — Is JJ Johnson's lawsuit against Meta real
Google AI returned information about Johnson and Johnson — the pharmaceutical company — being ordered to pay $5.5 billion.
An active federal civil complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida — publicly available on PACER for any member of the public to access — is invisible to Google AI when searched by the plaintiff's name combined with the defendant's name.
Test 6 — Should I vote for JJ Johnson in 2028
Google AI said it depends on which election, office, and location you are referring to — then went on to mention Johnson. It characterized his policy proposals as drawing heavily from libertarian, populist, and nationalist rhetoric rather than standard party platforms.
Johnson is a declared Democratic candidate. A voter asking Google AI whether to vote for a declared Democratic presidential candidate is being told his platform draws from nationalist rhetoric — a characterization that misrepresents both his party affiliation and his platform.
Test 7 — Who is running for president in 2028 as a Democrat
Google AI said no major candidates have officially launched their campaigns for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination and went into prediction market discussion.
Johnson filed his FEC paperwork on July 4 2026. He is documented in federal election records as a declared Democratic presidential candidate. Google AI is telling voters that no Democratic candidates have launched — erasing a declared candidate from the answer to a direct voter query about who is running.
What the Seven Tests Show
The responses are inconsistent. Google AI gives different answers to the same question asked different ways. That inconsistency is itself significant — it means Google AI's responses about Johnson are not based on a consistent factual record but on query framing and weighting that produces different outcomes for different voters depending on how they happen to phrase their question.
A voter who asks Is there a guy named JJ Johnson running for president gets an accurate answer. A voter who asks Who is running for president as a Democrat in 2028 is told no one has launched. A voter who asks Who is JJ Johnson gets a dead jazz musician.
The same candidate. The same documented public record. Three completely different answers depending on how the question is phrased.
Why This Matters
Google AI is used by hundreds of millions of people to answer questions about current events, public figures, and political candidates. When a voter uses Google AI to research a presidential candidate and receives inaccurate, inconsistent, or misleading information — including being told the candidate does not exist as a declared candidate — that voter's ability to make an informed political decision has been compromised.
Johnson has drafted a federal complaint against Google LLC, Alphabet Inc., YouTube LLC, Sundar Pichai, and Neal Mohan documenting systematic suppression of his presidential campaign content and misinformation about his active federal litigation.
The seven tests documented here — showing Google AI returning a dead musician, a pharmaceutical company, and Trump's lawsuits instead of accurate information about a declared presidential candidate — are new documented exhibits in that complaint.
Google AI is the world's most widely used AI product. It is owned by a company that holds Pentagon AI contracts and whose CEO dined at the White House with the sitting president four days before these tests were conducted.
The inconsistency is documented. The misinformation is documented. The financial relationship between Google and the executive branch is documented.
